n Nope…no black Friday specials here! | The Anti-Marketing Manifesto

Today is the day after Thanksgiving, officially known as “Black Friday…and most businesses are capitalizing on people’s lack mentality in order to make sales.

“For one day only, you can get these great deals…” Blah blah blah.

I never liked Black Friday and never participated in it, either as a consumer or as a business owner. (If I did once or twice and don’t remember… I probably felt slimy about it afterwards.)

Black Friday subtly reinforces the notion that money is “limited” and people have to scramble to go shopping, or else miss out on a great deal.

That’s total B.S. If you miss out on a “deal,” is your life going to end? No.

And if you truly value something, why wouldn’t you be happy to pay what’s its worth — full price?

When marketers participate in “holiday sales” and “Black Friday sales,” they’re reinforcing the dysfunctional belief in LACK. Marketers cash in on those beliefs, while consumers get to pile up on stuff they probably didn’t even want or need. That’s materialism at its finest.

As a home biz owner selling some type of premium, healthy, non-toxic, organic, or simply unique product — you have an opportunity to stand out by REFUSING to participate in the status quo.

If you’re gonna offer a sale, offer it for a specific meaningful reason, on your own timeline — not on Black Friday because “everyone else is doing it.”

You’ve probably been bombarded by countless emails from marketers today, offering “insane sales and discounts for 24 hours.” Hell, people whose lists I’m subscribed to…who haven’t sent out emails in months…are suddenly popping up out of the woodwork to offer me a Black Friday special. Seriously?

That’s why today I’m not offering any Black Friday sales.

…In fact, I’m announcing a rate INCREASE.

It’s called the “Cause I Said So Anti-Sale”!

All writing and editing packages are going up in price…starting in exactly two seconds. Boom.

In a world where everyone is striving to get things cheaper, cut costs, cut corners, and deepen the belief in “lack,” I’m taking a stand for abundance and prosperity.

When you follow Anti-Marketing principles, there’s always more for everybody. It falls under the correct philosophy of “more life for all.”

Follow typical ‘marketing’ wisdom…and you’ll just drive everyone deeper into lack, poverty, and dysfunction.

So yea…f#&k Black Friday!:)

I’m accepting a small number of new clients in 2017, and am looking to work only with people who are serious about making sales. Let’s do this shit. 2016 was a record year for both myself, and my current clients…precisely because we refused to do the “popular” thing just for the sake of it. Let me show you how my writing and editing can ramp up sales.
