Just got back from spending a week in beautiful Sandy, Utah, with family.
I met my aunt’s two dogs, a chihuahua and a new 3-month old pitbull/mastiff puppy! The puppy was ginormous compared to the chihuahua.
We walked them (more like “ran” them), with the dogs leading.
The puppy has no idea how much strength he already has. He needs a lot of training from a strong, stable human.
I’m always fascinated by the process of how a dog goes from “wandering all over the place,” and getting distracted by everything… to being focused and on track for a simple walk.
They, of course, mimic the energy of their humans.
They need training, consistency, and patience.
Meanwhile, my grandma’s dog, an adorable black shih tzu, is perfectly trained. And yet still amazingly playful. I adore her!
I felt a deep connection to these animals. They’re such sweet, innocent, spirited beings…and they’re looking for us humans to guide them and bring out the best in them… which means we need to first guide ourselves and bring out our own best.
What guidance do you need, to bring out your best self?
Who can help give you that guidance?
As for me, I stocked up on Smart Waters for my trip, as usual. I brought my favorite non-toxic handmade soaps to use while in Utah. As a family, we did impromptu squats (like 100+ of them), blasting the music. I thought my grandma looked younger than the last time I saw her 2.5 years ago…and I told her that.
I vowed to visit more often.
I squeezed in 1-2 hours of work each day, cranking out emails for a new client (some of which, I wrote on the plane). Had to drown out the noise of my family with my headphones.
I was not PERFECT on this trip, but I demonstrated qualities of being my best. That’s all that matters!
It was a fun trip, and a reminder of what I most value.
Talk soon,
Michelle
