n Anti-Marketing in the Age of AI | The Anti-Marketing Manifesto

There’s a big debate going on about whether AI (artificial intelligence) will take over copywriting for businesses.

People seem to be in 3 camps, from what I’ve observed:

  • Camp #1: “Fuck AI.” Some business owners hate the concept of AI and refuse to use it altogether, based on principle. We all saw the movie “Terminator,” and camp #1 assumes that’s where AI is leading humanity. As of yet, it’s unclear whether these people are true renegades, or whether they’re like Blockbuster’s upper management, refusing to adapt to the times before the company went out of business, while Netflix took over.
  • Camp #2: “Interesting, not sure about AI yet.” Some entrepreneurs are dabbling and experimenting with AI tools (like ChatGTP, Claude, and Google’s AI tool, Gemini), using it to discover new research angles, to overcome objections within their market, to analyze which email subject line is stronger, and/or to create a quick structure or outline for a piece of writing that you can tweak or build from… all while realizing that AI cannot yet accurately capture authentic, human voices
  • Camp #3: “I’ve already sold my sold to AI, and you should too.” Some business owners are gung ho about AI and insist it’s the next frontier of doing *everything*… including business, and if you’re not on board, you’re being left behind. I’m sure these are the same people who will someday f*ck their spouse through virtual reality goggles, and outsource their conscience to BaAL himself. If you want to see the dark side of where unchecked technology like AI can lead… just watch the TV series, “Black Mirror.”

Which camp are you in?

Just like “The Matrix” was a documentary showing how human consciousness is enslaved… I feel that “Black Mirror” is a documentary showing us what the makers of AI (and other “technologies”) have planned for humanity.

When humans rely completely on technology to think for them, work for them, make decisions for them, and LIVE for them… that’s when people will have lost all connection to their inner source of wisdom, and be 100% easy to manipulate.

These are the same people who will never look up at the sky, stand barefoot in the dirt, pray, or eat real food.

I’ve observed that the more a person uses AI, the less of a soul they seem to have. It fries their brain and their spirit. It makes them abandon their love of work. It severs personal connections and makes them quit on what they once loved.

This is because AI isn’t real… and we all know it.

It’s all based on a fabricated reality.

There’s nothing human about it. At most, AI can only be “like human.”

Your unique human experience is the only thing keeping you from becoming a robot.

For the anti-marketer, during this weird time we live in, the key is to stay close to what’s real.

Keep producing content that is REAL.

Trust me, people love it more than the fake content… and what’s real has far more of a positive impact.
